What’s my background?
Before going freelance as a professional copywriter, I worked in the not-for-profit sector for 13 years. This has provided me with bags of communications experience; writing for diverse audiences, on a range of topics, and with multiple objectives.

I can turn my hand to both customer-focused and business-to-business writing. I have led successful communication campaigns to support sales and marketing, business development, operations and customer service.

In 2002 I achieved the Plain English Campaign diploma and have championed the benefits of clear language ever since.

Need more proof?
In 2011, one of my campaigns won Gold in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations PRide Awards ‘not-for-profit’ category (Thames and Chiltern region).

The high-impact campaign aimed to recruit 56 residents with the right attitude, abilities and enthusiasm to join seven regional panels within the company’s new governance structure.

The judges’ comments:
This campaign used a brilliant creative platform as a hook for all activity. This ensured consistent messaging that was seeded through some very creative content that was generated across a variety of mediums. The results were benchmarked against objectives and highlighted some outstanding outputs.
